Pen has frozen: Do not use it. Freezing damages the medication. It must be thrown away safely in your sharps bin.
Room temperature exceeded 30°C: If the medication has been exposed to temperatures above 30°C (for example, during a heatwave or in a hot car), it must be discarded, even if it looks clear.
Past the expiry date: Do not use any pen that has passed its expiry date, regardless of how it was stored.
