It is common to occasionally miss a dose of your medication. How you handle a missed dose of Wegovy depends on how much time has passed since your scheduled Wegovy injection day.

If your missed Wegovy dose was 5 days ago or less
Take the missed Wegovy dose as soon as you remember. After taking the late Wegovy injection, you can continue with your usual weekly Wegovy dosing schedule.
Example: If your regular Wegovy injection day is Monday and you remember on Thursday, take the Wegovy dose on Thursday and resume your next Wegovy dose on the following Monday.
If 6 days or more have passed since your missed Wegovy dose
If 6 days or more have passed, you must skip the missed Wegovy dose entirely. Do not take the Wegovy medication; simply wait and take your next Wegovy dose on your regular scheduled day.
Example: If your regular Wegovy injection day is Monday and you remember on Sunday, do not take the missed Wegovy dose. Just take your next scheduled Wegovy dose on Monday.
🔴 Important Safety Rule
Do not take two doses of Wegovy within 48 hours of each other. If the timing of a late Wegovy dose is too close to your next scheduled Wegovy dose, you must skip the late dose to avoid the risk of severe Wegovy side effects.
Missing several weeks of Wegovy
If you have experienced a break in your Wegovy® treatment, please be reassured that small gaps do not mean your progress is lost. The body often retains the benefits of your previous doses, and we can usually help you get back on track.
For treatment gaps of 8 weeks or less, you can typically continue your treatment at the same dose you were previously prescribed. However, if your treatment gap exceeds 8 weeks, a dosage adjustment may be necessary to ensure you remain safe and comfortable as you resume. Please note that all dosage decisions remain at the final discretion of our clinical team, who will review your history to determine the most appropriate path forward for your health.
