Why Are GP Details Important?
Accurate GP information supports:
Safe clinical review and prescribing decisions
Proper continuity of care between healthcare providers
Compliance with UK prescribing and regulatory requirements
Because of this, valid GP details must be recorded before prescription treatment can be supplied, including GLP-1 medications such as Mounjaro® and Wegovy®.
Can I Update My GP Details in My MedExpress Account?
Yes. You can update your GP details directly from your MedExpress account dashboard at any time.
How Do I Provide My GP Details When Placing My First Order?
When placing your first MedExpress order, you'll be asked to enter your GP details. You can do this in one of two ways:
Postcode search: Enter your GP's postcode, then select your GP practice from the list of matching results.
Manual entry: If your GP practice doesn't appear using the postcode search, use the manual entry section to enter your GP's full details yourself.
How Do I Update My GP Details From My Account Dashboard?
If you need to update your GP details after your first order, you can do this directly from your MedExpress account dashboard, using the same postcode search or manual entry method described above.
Can MedExpress's Customer Care Team Update My GP Details for Me?
Yes, in certain circumstances. If you experience any issues updating your GP details yourself, MedExpress's Customer Care team can update your GP details on your behalf.
Note: MedExpress's Customer Care team can only update existing GP details on your account. If your account currently has no GP details recorded (i.e. the GP details field is blank), Customer Care cannot add these on your behalf — in this case, you'll need to add your GP details yourself via your account dashboard, using the postcode search or manual entry method described above.
