At MedExpress, we ensure that your GLP-1 medication—such as Mounjaro® or Wegovy®—is delivered safely, securely, and with all the necessary items to support your treatment journey.
When your parcel arrives, it is packaged to maintain the integrity of the medication during transit. Below is a breakdown of what you can expect to find inside your delivery.
1. Your Medication
The core of your delivery is your prescribed medication.
The Pen Device: Your Mounjaro® or Wegovy® pre-filled pen.
Packaging: The pen comes inside its original manufacturer's box. To provide extra protection, we place this box inside a specialised, padded inner bag designed to cushion the product against shocks during transit.
Protective Sleeve: We often include a cardboard sleeve over the medication box to provide an additional layer of protection against the pressure of ice packs.
2. Essential Accessories
To ensure you are ready to administer your treatment, your order will include the necessary accessories:
Sterile Pen Needles: Compatible needles for your specific pen device.
Alcohol Wipes: For cleaning the injection site before administration.
Instructional Materials: Information on how to safely store and use your device.
Note: If you believe any accessories are missing, please check all compartments of the parcel, including the protective padded inner bag and any separate packaging materials, as these items are sometimes tucked away for safety.
3. Temperature Control (Where Required)
Certain medications require specific temperature management:
Ice Packs: We include frozen gel packs to keep your medication within the required temperature range during delivery.
Transit Note: It is common for these ice packs to shift slightly during shipping. They may press against the perforated lines of your medication box, which can cause the box seal to pop open. This does not affect the safety of the medication inside, provided the pen device itself remains intact and undamaged.
Please note : As of May 2026, Wegovy orders do not include ice packs as the manufacturer has carried out stability testing confirming the medication remains safe and effective during delivery at room temperature. This change has been reviewed and approved by the UK medicines regulator (MHRA)
4. Documentation
Each delivery includes documentation to ensure you have all the information required for your treatment:
Dispensing Label: This label is attached to your medication box and contains your name, the date of dispensing, and specific dosage instructions.
Patient Information Leaflet (PIL): Provided by the manufacturer, this contains detailed clinical information about your specific medication, how to store it, and how to use it safely.
How to Verify Your Delivery
Upon receiving your parcel, we recommend checking that all items are present and that the pen device is in good condition.
The medication is typically safe to use if:
The pen is not cracked, leaking, or physically damaged.
The liquid is clear and colourless.
There are no visible particles or cloudiness.
