This article explains how to request account deletion and how to manage your marketing preferences. Please note that due to strict medical record regulations, some accounts cannot be deleted immediately.
Managing Marketing Communications
If you wish to stop receiving marketing emails or SMS from MedExpress, you can opt out at any time using one of the following two methods:
Email Unsubscribe: Scroll to the bottom of any marketing email you have received from us and click the "Unsubscribe" link.
Contact Support: You can contact our Customer Care team via email or live chat and formally request to be removed from our marketing distribution list.
Requesting Account Deletion
Account deletion eligibility depends on whether a prescription has been issued or approved.
If You Have No Order History
If you have never placed an order, and no prescription has been issued or dispatched, your account deletion request can be processed.
Process: Contact Customer Support and request account deletion.
Timeline: Deletion typically takes up to 7 days. During this time, you may still receive some automated communications. Once completed, your account will be permanently removed.
If You Have Placed an Order (Medical Record Retention)
If you have placed an order that was approved, medical record regulations require us to retain your account information.
Retention Period: Accounts with an approved prescription must be retained for 10 years from the date of your last order.
Restriction: Because of these legal regulations, accounts within this 10-year period cannot be permanently deleted.
Options During the Retention Period
If you are within the 10-year retention period, we cannot delete your account, but we can:
Unsubscribe you from all marketing communications.
Block or disable your account, ensuring you do not receive any further outreach while your records are kept securely in compliance with the law.
How to Request Deletion or Unsubscription
To proceed, please contact Customer Support and ensure you provide the following:
Account Status: Confirm whether or not you have placed an order with us.
Clear Request: State clearly whether you are requesting:
Full account deletion (only applicable if you have no order history), or
Marketing unsubscription and account blocking (if you have an order history within the 10-year window).
