Please Note: Nevolat® is currently part of a limited rollout at MedExpress, so it may only be visible as a treatment option for some customers at this time. Once this phased release is complete, we’ll update this article with more information.

How Nevolat® works
Nevolat® contains liraglutide, which mimics a natural hormone in the body called GLP-1 that is released from the gut after a meal. It supports weight loss by:
Reducing Appetite: It targets the hunger centre in the brain, quieting food-related thoughts.
Increasing Fullness: It slows down how quickly the stomach empties, helping you stay satisfied for longer between meals.
Regulating Blood Sugar: It keeps blood sugar levels steady, which helps reduce food cravings.
How to take Nevolat®
Nevolat® is a pre-filled injection pen used once every day, independent of meals.
Injection Sites: It is injected under the skin (subcutaneously) in the stomach, upper arm, or front of the thigh. We recommend regularly rotating injection sites to avoid skin irritation.
Timing: It is recommended to use the pen around the same time each day to regulate effectiveness.
Safety: Never take an extra dose; notify us immediately if you take more than your prescribed dose.
What happens if I miss a dose?
If you remember within 12 hours of your usual time, inject it as soon as you remember.
If more than 12 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time the following day.
Do not use a double dose or increase your dose to make up for a missed one.
Dosage and Pen Longevity
Nevolat® is sold in packs of 3 or 5 pre-filled pens. One pen contains a total of 18 mg of liraglutide. Your treatment starts at a low dose and increases weekly over five weeks:
| Week | Daily Dose | Amount Used Daily |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | 0.6 mg | 0.1 mL |
| Week 2 | 1.2 mg | 0.2 mL |
| Week 3 | 1.8 mg | 0.3 mL |
| Week 4 | 2.4 mg | 0.4 mL |
| Week 5+ | 3.0 mg (Maintenance) | 0.5 mL |
At the full 3.0 mg maintenance dose, a pack of 3 pens lasts 18 days, and a pack of 5 pens lasts 30 days.
How to prepare and use your Nevolat® Pen
1. Prepare Your Pen with a New Needle
Remove the pen cap.
Attach a new needle (BD Ultra-Fine™ or NovoFine®) by pushing it straight onto the pen and twisting tightly.
Remove the outer needle cap (keep for later) and the inner needle cap (discard immediately). ⚠️ A drop of solution at the tip is normal.
2. Check the Flow (Before First Use of Each New Pen)
Always use a new needle for each injection to prevent infection and blockages.
Turn the dose selector to the flow check symbol (➤).
Point the needle up and hold the dose button until the counter returns to 0. ✅ A drop of solution must appear at the tip.
3. Select Your Dose
Turn the selector until your prescribed dose (0.6 mg to 3.0 mg) appears in the counter. ❌ Do not count clicks; only use the counter and pointer.
Checking solution: If the selector stops before 3.0, you do not have enough for a full maintenance dose. We advise moving to a new pen to inject a full dose rather than dose-splitting.
4. Inject Your Dose
Insert the needle into your skin while ensuring you can see the dose counter.
Press and hold the button until the counter shows 0, then count slowly to 6 before removing the needle.
5. After Your Injection
Lead the needle into the outer cap on a flat surface, push on fully, and unscrew the needle.
Dispose of the needle in a sharps bin.
Recap the pen to protect the solution from light.
