How do the different types of credit work on my MedExpress account?

Overview

MedExpress may apply different types of credit to your account depending on how the credit was issued. Each type of MedExpress credit has specific rules around how it's used and whether it expires.

Which Types of MedExpress Credit Don't Expire?

Some MedExpress credit doesn't expire and will remain on your account until it's used. This includes:

  • Goodwill credit – added by a MedExpress agent as part of a resolution

  • Cancellation credit – issued when a refund is applied as account credit instead of returning funds to your original payment method

Because this credit relates to your own funds or a service resolution, it does not expire.

Which Types of MedExpress Credit Expire?

Other types of MedExpress credit are issued as part of promotions or reward schemes and are intended for use within a set period. This includes:

  • Referral credit – earned when you refer a new MedExpress customer

  • Price match credit – issued when a price match request is approved

These types of credit expire 12 months from the date they're issued.

How Is MedExpress Credit Applied at Checkout?

MedExpress credit is applied automatically when you place an order.

  • You cannot choose to remove or delay using your credit.

  • The system automatically applies any available credit to your order total.

  • If multiple credits are available, the system applies the credit with the earliest expiry date first.

This ensures you receive the maximum value from your available MedExpress credit.

How Does MedExpress Credit Appear on My Receipt?

MedExpress credit is applied directly to your order total at checkout.

  • Credit doesn't appear as a separate line item on your receipt.

  • The credit is deducted from the total payable amount before payment is taken.

  • Your receipt will show the final amount paid after credit has been applied.
