What's Included If I'm Prescribed an Injectable Pen (Mounjaro® or Wegovy® Pen)?
The Pen Device: Your Mounjaro® or Wegovy® pre-filled pen, ready for injection.
Packaging: Your pen is supplied inside its original manufacturer's box. For extra protection, MedExpress places this box inside a specialised, padded inner bag designed to cushion the pen against shocks during transit.
Protective Sleeve: Where a delivery includes ice packs (Mounjaro® Pen deliveries — see Temperature Control below), MedExpress also includes a cardboard sleeve over the medication box. This sleeve protects the box against pressure from the ice packs inside the parcel.
Sterile Pen Needles: Needles compatible with your specific Mounjaro® or Wegovy® pen device.
Alcohol Wipes: For cleaning the injection site before you administer your medication.
Instructional Materials: Information on how to safely store and use your pen device.
Temperature Control
Mounjaro® Pen: Mounjaro® requires temperature-controlled shipping, so your parcel will include ice packs to help keep the medication within its required temperature range during transit. It is normal for these ice packs to arrive partially or fully melted, as they absorb heat to protect the medication — a melted ice pack does not mean your Mounjaro® medication has been exposed to temperatures outside its required range. MedExpress's cold chain packaging is tested to maintain the required temperature conditions for the expected shipping duration under defined shipping conditions. The ice packs can also shift slightly during shipping and may press against the perforated lines of the medication box, which can cause the box seal to pop open — this does not affect the safety of the medication inside, provided the pen device itself remains intact and undamaged.
Wegovy® Pen: As of May 2026, Wegovy® Pen is safely shipped at room temperature and no longer requires temperature-controlled packaging. This means your Wegovy® Pen delivery will not include ice packs.
If any accessories appear to be missing from your delivery, check all compartments of the parcel, including the padded inner bag and any separate packaging materials, as these items are sometimes tucked away for safety.
What's Included If I'm Prescribed an Oral Tablet (Wegovy® Pill or Foundayo™ Pill)?
The Tablets: You will receive your Wegovy® Pill or Foundayo™ Pill medication in its standard blister or bottle packaging.
No Injection Equipment: As this is an oral medication taken by mouth, no needles, syringes, or sharps bins are included in your delivery.
Room Temperature Packaging: Oral tablets are stored at room temperature, so your delivery will not contain cold-chain packaging or ice packs.
What Documentation Is Included With My Delivery?
Every MedExpress GLP-1 delivery, whether pen or tablet, includes documentation to give you all the information you need for your treatment:
Dispensing Label: Attached to your medication packaging, this label shows your name, the date of dispensing, and your specific dosage instructions.
Patient Information Leaflet (PIL): Provided by the medication's manufacturer, the PIL contains detailed clinical information about your specific medication, including how to store it and how to use it safely.
How Do I Verify My Delivery Has Arrived Safely?
When your parcel arrives, check that all the items listed above are present and that your medication is in good condition.
If you're prescribed a pen (Mounjaro® or Wegovy® Pen): your medication is typically safe to use if:
The pen is not cracked, leaking, or physically damaged.
The liquid is clear and colourless.
There are no visible particles or cloudiness.
If you're prescribed a tablet (Wegovy® Pill or Foundayo™ Pill): your medication is typically safe to use if:
The blister or bottle packaging is sealed and undamaged.
The tablets are not cracked, discoloured, or crumbled.
