What's Changing From May 2026?
From May 2026, Wegovy® is delivered without refrigerated packaging or ice packs.
The manufacturer of Wegovy® has carried out stability testing confirming the medication remains safe and effective during delivery at room temperature. This update has been reviewed and approved by the UK medicines regulator (MHRA).
If your Wegovy® didn't arrive cold, or your pen feels warm when it arrives, this is expected and normal — it doesn't affect how well it works.
Why Is This Safe?
Wegovy® is a protein-based medication. Like many protein medicines, it can safely tolerate short periods at room temperature during delivery without affecting how it works.
Earlier guidance around refrigerated delivery was precautionary. Updated stability data now shows Wegovy® can be delivered safely without refrigerated packaging, while still meeting the same standards for safety and effectiveness.
What Does This Mean for Me?
Your Wegovy® is safe to use, and the medication itself hasn't changed:

There's no change to how you use Wegovy®.
Store your treatment in the fridge as normal once it arrives — refer to the storage guidance included with your parcel, or available online, if you have any questions.
What Temperature Is Safe During Delivery?
Wegovy® can be safely kept at room temperature (below 30°C) during delivery — this is expected and doesn't affect how the medication works.
Once your order arrives, store your pen in the fridge (2°C–8°C) until you're ready to use it.

Does This Affect All Weight Loss Injectables?
No. This update applies to Wegovy® only. Other injectable treatments may have different delivery or storage instructions — MedExpress will always provide clear guidance for your specific medication.
