Required Information for Your Switch
To switch medications smoothly, please be prepared to provide the following details:
1. Timing of your last GLP-1 dose
You must confirm when you took your most recent dose. This helps the prescriber avoid overlapping treatments and ensures the correct starting dose is selected to reduce the risk of side effects.
2. Consent for strength adjustment
You must confirm that you agree to the MedExpress prescriber adjusting your requested dose if clinically required. GLP-1 medications are not always dose-equivalent, and clinical safety guidance must be followed.
Note: If the prescriber changes your strength, any price difference is typically credited to your account. Without this consent, we may be unable to proceed with your order.
3. Reporting side effects
You must confirm whether you have experienced any side effects in the past week (e.g., nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, or injection site reactions). This helps us assess if switching is appropriate.
4. Declaring severe or concerning symptoms
You must state if you are experiencing any severe symptoms, such as persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration, severe abdominal pain, or other concerning physical changes. If these are reported, additional clinical assessment will be required before we can prescribe.
Providing Previous Use Evidence (PUE)
If you request a non-starter (step-up) dose, you must provide valid PUE showing your name, the medication name, the strength, and the date (within the last 6 months).
Accepted formats: Pharmacy dispensing label, prescription copy, pharmacy receipt, or order/dispatch confirmation.
Note: If valid PUE is not provided, we can usually only prescribe the GLP-1 starter dose.
Why your GLP-1 order may be placed on hold
Your order may be delayed if:
Your last dose timing or consent for dose adjustment is missing.
Side effect information is incomplete.
Severe symptoms require further review.
Previous Use Evidence is missing or invalid.
Providing complete information promptly helps avoid these unnecessary delays.
Frequently Asked Questions
